“The Reason for the Season”
The Sunday School program of First Congregational United Church of Christ invites you to join them for this year’s Christmas pageant on Sunday evening, December 20, 2009 at 5:00 pm.
Immediately following the pageant you are then invited to join in the fellowship of a potluck meal in the Fellowship Hall. If you can bring a dish to pass it is great… but being a “potluck” there is always enough food and we welcome you to dine with us.
This year’s pageant is home grown, home written, and home produced.
The authors of “The Reason for the Season” are Genoa City’s own Mark Katzenberg and Pastor Mark Schowalter. The story brings the true meaning of Christmas back into focus, away from the commercials and retail stores, back to finding Christ in Christmas and in your hearts. The pageant this year also introduces three new original songs; ‘It Doesn’t Feel Like Christmas Anymore’, ‘The Reason for the Season’, and ‘The Shepherd’s Song’. This pageant has a little something for everyone: a fairytale, a little rhythm & blues, a little country, a little song & dance, and a little folksy heroes. Produced by Ms. Nancy Marks with choreography by Katy Williams & Rachel Radunz it is a delightful telling of an old story through some new characters.
Come join us for the evening, Sunday, December 20 beginning at 5:00 pm at First Congregational United Church of Christ, 624 Park Street, Genoa City, Wisconsin.
Potluck dinner to follow immediately after the show. |

United Church of Christ - a community of faith that seeks to respond to the Gospel of Jesus
Christ in word and deed. The UCC was founded in 1957 as the union of several different
Christian traditions: from the beginning of our history, we were a church that affirmed
the ideal that Christians did not always have to agree to live together in communion.
Our motto—"that they may all be one"—is Jesus' prayer for the unity of the church.
The UCC is one of the most diverse Christian denominations in the United States. |

The Wisconsin Conference of the United Church of Christ
serves the friends, members, staff and clergy of our 229 congregations
across the state. We are a link between the local churches, the four
associations in the state and the national United Church of Christ. |

God is Still Speaking is a proclamation, identity
and communication ministry of the United Church of Christ.
We spread the message of God’s extravagant welcome, reaching out especially to those who have felt there is no room for them within Christianity and the church – the excluded and alienated,
the spiritually homeless, the questioning.
In partnership with other ministries of the United Church of Christ,
we are building communities where diverse people join together
to worship, grow and dream.
Come to the party. You’re invited. |
